SASI’I was inspired by our mother, a native of Pinotepa Nacional, Oaxaca. Through her stories, her love for tradition, and her connection to the art of the huipil, we grew up understanding that every woven piece conveys more than beauty. It carries memory, community, and identity.
In many artisan communities, mothers and grandmothers have woven huipiles for generations. However, too often, these women are forced to sell their work at unfair prices to cover their basic needs. This reality threatens not only their economic stability but also the continuity of a cultural legacy passed down from mother to daughter.
SASI’I exists to help change this story.
We work to build a bridge between artisan communities and people around the world who value authentic handmade pieces. Each SASI’I huipil represents a connection: between the artisan and the wearer, between tradition and the present, between Oaxaca and the world.
A SASI’I huipil is more than a garment. It is a piece of heritage, a symbol of resilience, and a celebration of the women who weave dreams into every thread.
